I recommend seeing the install tips on RegexBuddy site at https://www.regexbuddy.com/wine.html. In particular, I had to change the font from Tahoma using the steps listed under "Glitches Running RegexBuddy with Wine". I switched it from Tahoma to Courier New.

Also note you can install additional fonts to the bottle as described in https://www.codeweavers.com/support/forums/general/?t=27;forumcurPos=700;msg=157997.
