Which version of CCO were you using at that time? (6.0.1 or a nightly perhaps).
Im using crossover version 6.2 on a black Macbook with one gig of memory on Tiger. Red Orchestra used to work with version 6.0.1 for me quite well... But now with version 6.2, Red orchestra will launch up as a new window and than just stall at a white screen. I have to force quit it to shut down the application.
I've also tried playing with the console options like -windowed, -gl, etc... but no real results
Does Leopard fix this?
Seems to work on leopard with crossover 6.2.1 Turned off explosions though caused my version to crash when i threw a grenade. Also mouse control needs some tinkering. But you can shoot at people just fine :)
Using the 2Ghz Black macbook and CrossOver Games (7.0) Red orchestra works great in windowed mode (not in full screen, the screen goes blank white). The only real downside is that the mouse doesnt focus/stay in the window during gameplay. If I were to move the mouse to the right to look right, the mouse would eventually step outside of the window and would disallow me looking further than that point, almost as if the mouse wasn't completely focused into the window.
either than that, everything runs absolutely well
Hi Everyone,
I can confirm this as well, the game is running like a dream on my Alu Intel iMac (Mac OS 10.5.4, CrossOver Games 7.1.0), but the mouse bug is freakin' annoying. Is there a way how to fix this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Have a nice day.
Kind Regards,
Stu
I'm with stuart, the game runs great on my mac (Aluminum iMac, OS X 10.5.5), but the mouse problem keeps me from enjoying it.
The mouse problem prevents me from playing it at all.... and how do I get it fullscreen? I get only small screen..... -.-
I'm having exactly the same problem as Kevin. If anyone figures out how to run this in fullscreen and/or let my mouse track everywhere, I'd love to hear it.
The mouse bug is the only thing preventing me from playing. Has anyone heard of any solutions for Mac's? I've seen some for Linux, but none that can help me out.
There is a solution to the mouse problem. Here it is:
Add the registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Wine/DirectInput/MouseWarpOverride = "force" or the mouse will have only 180 degree mouvement. The menu will become only keyboard driven.
Also: you can manually edit an INI file of the game to set which ever screen resolution you like. OpenGL rendering is preferred over DIRECT3D, btw.
I'm currently using a Microsoft XBOX 360 controller, Macintosh OS X Leopard, and running Red Orchestra through Steam under emulation software with no problems.
Total time it took me to figure this out: 1 hour
Total time it will take to follow this guide and be playing the game: 15 minutes
If you have Macintosh OS X Leopard, an Xbox Controller, and would like to play Red Orchestra natively in the operating system, here is how I did it:
Firstly you will need:
-A working Macintosh computer
-An Xbox 360 controller
-To purchase Red Orchestra through your steam account.
Next, you will need several files:
-Download the steam client here: http://storefront.steampowered.com/d...eamInstall.msi
-Download the XBOX 360 Gamepad driver for Mac OS X here: http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/Pro...ller/OsxDriver
-Download CrossOver emulation software here: http://media.codeweavers.com/pub/cro...demo-8.0.0.dmg
-Download Mac OS X Gamepad emulation software here: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macos...companion.html
Step 1: Install CrossOver Emulation software
Step 2: Using this youtube video as a guide, use the crossover emulation software to install Steam... Then, use steam to install Red Orchestra.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZ3rIbn9i7c
Step 3: Install the Mac OS X Xbox 360 Gamepad Driver
Step 4: Plug in your Xbox 360 Gamepad
Step 5: Install the Mac OS X Gamepad Companion Emulation software
Step 6: Use the GamePad Companion software to remap all of the keys to your Xbox Controller including the joystick Axises... For example: Assign button A to “z” assign button B to “X” assign Joystick-1-X-Axis to “A, D”, assign joystick-1-Y-axis to “W, S”, etc.
Step 7: When you have successfully remapped all of the keys to the controller, press “start” on gamepad companion and test to verify that the controller keys are working in a text document. Test each key one at a time. If your controller mapping is sufficient, move on, if not? Work on it.
Step 8: With Gamepad Companion set on “start” so that the controller is currently functioning... Use crossover to open steam, launch RO, and then simply go to the “controls” and remap all of the keys in RO so that they are bound to the respective gamepad buttons and joysticks.
Step 9: Enjoy your fully functioning AVP with an XBOX 360 gamepad running smoothly in MAC OS X!
A FEW TIPS WITH SETTING YOUR CONTROL ARRANGEMENTS:
This is running perfect for me but here are some additional tips:
***Becuase a keyboard is limited in accepting multiple keystrokes at once, you'll want to map one joystick to the following commands: Mouse 1, Mouse 2, Mouse 3, Mouse 4
Primary fire: Wheel up
Secondary fir: Wheel down
When you go in game to assign your controls, do so, and this will prevent log jamming of "too many keystrokes from a keyboard input" which would otherwise result in actions like your character not turning when you want him to becuase you are also running, firing, and jumping at the same time.

Where and how do I enter this command? In other words, where exactly do I "Add the registry"?
in your "run command" box, type in "regedit" and run it with the bottle you are running RO:OST on. Then go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Wine then right-click on wine and click on "add key" or something about a key.
Then give it the name "DirectInput" (If that is, if you dont already have it).
After that, click on DirectInput (the folder you just made) and right click BELOW the default string (it says Default) and make a string value named "MouseWarpOverride".
Once you have done that right click on MouseWarpOverride and click on MODIFY. then type in "force" in the white bar.
Now you are done! Have fun playing Red Orchestra!
Hope this helps!
