While native Linux version of RealPlayer Plus is available, I've used it for years, it cannot be used with Real's music store to buy and download music. Real really needs to add music store access to the LInux player, but I thought that running the Windows version with CrossOver might work.
I managed to get the latest RealPlayer Plus to install on an FC3 laptop running CrossOver 5.0.3. It kind of works. It will play audio files and stream internet content. I have found the following problems:
-hangs frequently so that I have to reset all Windows applications
-it won't recognize the CD drive
-when I try to configure it for use with Real's music store, it downloads the plugin that is needed but then the message
There is no software update available from Real to support this content: mba
and then RealPlayer hangs.
I should try it with the CrossOver 6 beta and maybe a more recent Windows Media Player.
Does anyone else have any tricks or suggestions?
Thanks,
Bryan
