Test hardware was a MacBook Pro (Radeon Mobility X1600 128 MB, 10.6.4) and a MacBook (GMA 950, 10.5.8).
The game works fabulously in CrossOver Games - the graphical setup application (used for configuring control scheme, resolution and window mode) runs on .NET but since there seem to be issues with .NET in CXG, I used the latest Mono for Windows installer (download it here). The game itself needs the MS 2005 C++ Redistributable.
Turning off the fancier smoothing effect may yield a small performance boost, but YMMV in the end.
PS: This is not the same game as the original DOS-based version, which should run perfectly under any DOSBox environment/port.
