Poor graphics - my Mac or iRO?

Firstly, I'm so excited that I can finally play iRO on my Mac! Unfortunately I've run into a couple problems, but they are minor, and I'm hoping it will be an easy fix:

Here's my Mac OS X ver. 10.5.8
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Here is a screen cap of the "fuzziness" that my graphics have - especially the text (currently driving me nuts).

Also, even though I run it in full-window mode (it won't run in non-windowed), there is a large black space at the bottom of the "game screen", as well as this black border on either side (you can't see it in this screen cap though, but the same bar that's on the bottom is on the right and left, too).

Any idea how to fix this? Thanks in advance :)

[EDIT] I just noticed that the screen cap here has pretty nice graphics and is NOT what I am seeing when I'm running the game. I did command + shift + 3 to get the cap. Why would the screen cap look better than the game? lol

What graphics device does your computer have? If you don't know, you can check by following these instructions:

  1. Open the Apple menu (at the top-left corner of the screen).
  2. Hold the option key, then choose ‘System Profiler’.
  3. Select the ‘Graphics/Displays’ sub-section of the ‘Hardware’ section.

Your computer's graphics device will be listed on the right.

Have you tried running the client in different video resolutions? Do the problems occur when using the lowest possible resolution?

A little off topic, But Richard, do you play iRo? Ymir? 😎

I play on Valkyrie, usually on my high priest, Axylus. You might have seen me on Yggdrasil during the Renewal testing period. :)

Why do you ask?

I think it might have been the resolution issue. I thought I tried them all, but I guess I didn't because the one I found works, so my graphics are nice now :) Boy, am I embarrassed hah.

I have noticed that there my cursor doesn't move across the screen as quickly as I'd like it to (and how it used to on my PC...), but I'm guessing that's just normal and something I have to deal with?

Thanks for your help so far :)

See the relevant section in my guide. :)

Awesome, thank you so much for your help! :)
