I experienced some strange issues when trying to install and run QL 3.9 today. CX and system info is in the thread title. These errors happened on both Linux Mint 21.2, and openSUSE Leap 15.3.
QL installed fine today on the newly-released CX 23.5.0-1. However, running it failed (initially). I was shown a windows "Run-time error '380.' Invalid property value." Closing and re-starting CX did not help.
I decided then to try to launch QuickTARGET Unlimited. That launched and ran, but halted during a calculation with a windows message that a font was missing. Happily, it offered to let me search for the font (or an alternative), and chosing a super-similarly-named font solved that issue. QT Unlimited runs fine now.
With QT Unlimited still running, I decided to try to launch QuickTARGET (not Unlimited). That launched, but gave me a different missing font error before it would let me do anything in the program. I was able to choose a substitute font alright, and it proceeded to run.
With those two programs still running, I decided to try QuickLOAD itself, hoping that the operation of these two other programs would somehow have addressed the runtime error. It apparently did, because QL launched and ran. It, too, however, had a missing font I had to select a sub for.
From there, there was still a problem. The tooltips or help bubbles that show up by default when one hovers over almost anything in QuickLOAD cause issues. If I open a drop-down menu in order to change projectile (for example), the auto-opening of the help bubble causes the drop-down to immediately close. That means I effectively cannot change projectile. The fix for this, temporarily, is to simply turn off the help bubbles in QL.
That last issue is something that was a problem between QL and CX many versions and years ago. I haven't seen it in a long time, but it is back now (as of CX 23.5.0-1 and QL 3.9 on Linux Mint 21.2).
Hopefully this will be helpful to people who experience these issues and come here looking for assistance. Plus, perhaps the CodeWeavers folks will see this and note it for development or bug-fixing.
