After online FI download support stopped for this version, I have continued to use it to track my personal finances. I paid for it, it's my program now.
I have simply disabled all online connectivity I could find in case at some point HIG Capitol decided to 'force' Quicken 2017 users to upgrade by disabling the program itself, with some sneaky update. My program does TRY to reach out to the internet, but I've blocked it thru Windows 10.
Now, after every restart, it tries to reach the update server - exactly what I was attempting and have successfully prevented - but the attempted 'handshake' itself is a big hassle... the program won't really start for data entry, until I cancel that screen, restart again and go thru no less than three attempts by the program to verify my Quicken ID - which it cannot do because that feature is also disabled on their end, for users of this version!
Has anyone solved any of these issues for themselves? Some module to remove, a bit of code to rewrite (that a non-coder could work without risking fuckign up everything!)... or some entry in the registry I can alter? Thanx for any help or input.
