Quicken 2012 Forum

I am trying to install and run Quicken Home and Business 2012. I tried to install it using the Quicken 2011 setup but it says it failed (but doesn't seem to give any error message). When I ran it, it starts fine but when I tried to open files the application hangs without display the file selection box.
When that happened the Quicken application window does not respond to resize, move, etc. and is always on top covering all other applications below.

I also tried to install on a brand new bottle as an unsupported application. I installed .NET 2.0 and 3.0 first, then Arial Font, and then Quicken 2012. The result is the same.

I have encountered the same problem. I'm new to using Quicken 2012, but I have found a solution to opening the files. Open your file manager the folder where your Quicken data is located. Copy the file to another location in case you want to go back to a previous version of Quicken. Then move the file icon (that contains your Quicken data) with your mouse on top of your Quicken 2012 icon which is located on your desktop. This will open up Quicken 2012 and open the file that has your Quicken data. It seems to work after that (but don't try to register or it will crash). That's as far as I have got so far. Let me know how it works for you.
