I tried to install this on an XP bottle and got nowhere.
On a Vista Bottle I got as far as the .Net Framework 2.0 installation. It ran and was showing progress but I gave up after about 4 hours...
I tried installing .Net Framework 2.0 into the bottle and got it to install correctly, but when I went back to QB installation it insisted on re-installing (No choice just went to it) and did not work...
You should goto the compatibility center and look up .net 2.
Basically you need to install install IE6 first
then install .net 2 first (before you go forward with quickbooks2009)
of course at that point it looks like it hangs for me at the install page. I can't hit the next button.
what hangs up for you, the .net 2 or the quickbooks? For me when I install QB, it tries to install net.2 with no option to skip regardless of whether it is there or not. I tried this on an XP machine and it does the same thing - just barrels through and re-installs net.2!

Before you ever start the quickbooks install you need to go into manage bottles and install IE6 first, then go into manage bottles and install the .NET 2 package.
Then go back into manage bottles and install quickbooks 2009 and then you'll see it hang. It should get through the flash 9 install and move onto the quickbooks install before hanging. I was going to take a peek tonight at debug log and see if there was anything easily fixed.
I get the same thing. Did you take a look at the debug log?
