I have successfully installed this software on Fedora Core 3 Kernel 2.6.9-1.667
Before installing the software:
1- I installed DCOM98 (first install DCOM95, then find and install DCOM98 check winetools for info) through the cxsetup utility (DCOM95 as supported app, DCOM98 as unsupported)
2- I installed IE6.0 through the cxsetup utility
3- I also removed the regsvr32.exe from c:\windows\system folder (the qbooks install will copy it's own version)
I then installed the software using cxsetup QuickBooks 2000 supported app, with the 2003 CD in the CD-ROM
Then you must run reboot.bat from the Program\ Files/Intuit/Quickbooks/ directory. This registers all the .dll's. If you don't do this, the program will pretend to run and then immediatly terminate.
I rebooted my linux machine at this point for good measure. I tried running qbooks immediatly and got no-where.
Now you can finally run qbooks. There are quirks like the other posters have mentioned. I also have a problem with it ceasing up after running for a while. I tried most of the functions and they seem to work. I do not know if the update feature works.
Good Luck!
