[E02] No language files found - Appears alone

I'm trying to use PyLotRO to run DDO, and I have it configured to the proper directory. However, it's giving me the following message:

Initialising, please wait...
[E02] No language files found.

The tips and tricks section here says that [E02] will only appear in conjunction with [E01] and [E13] when the program isn't configured, but that's clearly not the problem I'm having. Any ideas?

I believe you missed the "initialization" step.

The first time you launch PyLotRO you need to tell it where the game is...
The instructions are buried in several locations... one is the Tips and Tricks -- How to Setup PyLotRO for patching.
(namely because the first thing you need to do, normally, is patch the game.)

Go through these steps:
in CrossOver Games (CXG), goto Programs>PyLotRO and select 'PyLotRO' from the pulldown menus
in PyLotRO, goto Tools>Settings Wizard and press the 'Find Games' button (it will auto detect the installed path) then press 'Apply'
you should see the server news appear
now goto Tools>Patch and select 'Start'
wait a long time (it can take hours depending on your connection
'Exit' when it's Finished
Login and play

Hi,

Did you install DDO using the crosstie provide on it's C4 page?

http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=4048

Did you follow the forum instructions there about how to configure things?

Cheers!

Ah, egg on my face. I actually copied the DDO directory from a windows install, but I somehow managed to get only two files in the process. Entirely my fault, sorry for wasting your time.

You can do this easily enough -- just copy the files in the Program Files/Turbine/ to:

~/Library/Application Support/CrossOver Games/bottles/<your bottle>/drive_c/Program Files

Then you need to install PyLotRO into that bottle.

Initialize PyLotRO and you should be running around Eberon (you might have to patch first).
