I did the CxG install of Lotro - the Pando did the full 10 gig
download and created the bottle as expected. I then attempted to
install PyLotro per the instructions I've read on this site.
If you used the CrossTie installer, then all the component parts of the LOTRO installation, including PyLotRO were installed.
If you did not use the CrossTIe installer, the probability is that your total installation will not work.
Re-run the install using the CrossTie installer from the LOTRO "home" page here at Codeweavers.
http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=2869
Click the Orange button "Install via CrossTie.
When the "Crossover Software Installer" window comes up, go to the third line (Will install into ...) click edit.
select the bottle where you installed LOTRO. This will ensure that everything gets installed into the correct bottle and that the PMB will not need to run again.
When the PMB installer pops up (narrow blue window) simply click cancel.
Then click "done" in the lower right corner of the Crossover Software Installer window.
You should now find PyLotro under the "programs" pulldown when you launch CXG. If you do not, simply go to the adjacent "configure" pulldown and select "Clear and rebuild program menus".
You should then be good to go.
It finds the folder where the Lotro client is - then when trying to
install PyLotro, it returns the error: "Unable to find an installer
for PyLotRO in '/Users/scottgillespie/Applications/CrossOver
Games/Turbine/The Lord of the Rings Online'.
I'm sure this might be user error..but did I miss a step? The 10
gig client's there. Crossover Games seems to be working...but
PyLotro just won't work with it.
Under 10.1 the Turbine installer now works. You apparently installed via the Turbine download independent of the CrossTie installer.
When launching the client..it begins launching (bouncing Mac icon)
then just quits and vanishes as if it fails to launch.
The "Turbine Launcher" will not run (yet) under WINE - CXG 10.1. That is why PyLotRO is necessary. The Turbine Launcher is crashing. You just are not seeing the crash information.
