Whenever I try to update lotro, nothing happens after it's connecting.

It just stays that way, even after 30 minutes. My cpu usage shoots to 100%, on both my cores. Until I press abort.

If I unplug my network cable, I do get an error "Failed to connect to the patch server: OEC_E_CONNECTIONFAILED(0x80041003)".
But with my network cable plugged in, it just stays at 'Connecting'.

When I try to ping 94.75.194.24, I get this:

34 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 33017ms

Looks like (from your ping) that the patch server isn't responding, nothing I can do about that.

Alan, is it normal for the EU patch server to show up as IP addresses and at port 5015?

NA servers patch to a DNS name on port 80... patch.lotro.com:80

For what it's worth a trace route from Phila PA fails ... implying a TCP/IP routing problem of some sort.

That particular IP address (94.75.194.24) does not resolve to a valid host name.

I've double checked with my install and that IP address/port is in the config files it fetches and it does connect and patch from the UK.
