Issue with news bulletin

Any idea what's up with the news bulletin.

It was failing completely last week as Turbine had the server down.

Now, the server is up, but the news panel in PyLotRO is blank.

The url in launcher.config is apparently "ok" -- i.e if one pastes it into a browser window, you now get a site, not a "down for maintenance" message from Turbine.

I suspect that this page may have changed in format, don't know? I must say, it is not what I would have expected to find there.

I assume this is the appropriate part in launcher.config....

<!-- News and Sponsor Logo/Link -->

<add key="URL.NewsFeed" value="http://www.lotro.com/index.php?option=com_bca-rss-syndicator&feed_id=1"/>

<add key="URL.NewsStyleSheet" value="http://status.turbine.com/launcher/lotro/newsstylesheet.xslt"/>

<add key="URL.AlertsStyleSheet" value="http://status.turbine.com/launcher/lotro/alertsstylesheet.xslt"/>

Interesting... In the time it took me to type up the previous question, the news bulletin DID "fill in."

The Font and display format (style?) is completely different.

It would appear that the "new mechanism" (an RSS feed now?) is simply taking a VERY LONG time to parse/display compared to the previous system in place two weeks ago... or some thing of the sort.

I did some timings .... it takes between 48 and 52 seconds for the "news bulletin" to load now.

This is a definite increase from the 2-3 seconds it took in the past.

I tried it about 6 hours ago and it took a while (just opening it in a web browser) and tried it again just now and it was quick. Might just be a network issue as both the feed and xslt sheet look pretty normal to me.

Hmm... Turbine seems to have "fixed" whatever they changed... The old format is back and the news again loads in 2 or 3 seconds.
