In an XP bottle alongside a couple other games that do work fine, the Steam version of Psychonauts doesn't load. I get the launcher splash screen and then when I click "Play Psychonauts" there's an error about "Problem with Steam" and then the game closes, opening steampowered.com on my web browser as it goes.
It looks like it might be an issue with Steam itself; try reinstalling Steam, or try logging out and logging back in.
For me, Psychonauts in Steam works perfectly in CXG 8.1.4 under OS X (10.6.2, MBP Late-2006, 128 MB Radeon Mobility X1600), apart from some minor texture flashes.
@rampancy: Does it still run fine with CXG 9.1.0?
I'm in the same boat as Joshua above. When I click the "Play Psychonauts" button in the Psychonauts Launcher, all I get is a "Problem starting up Steam" message. Then the Steam store opens in firefox.
