PSpice 9.1 Student Edition in Crossover 8.0.0

I managed to get PSpice 9.1 Student Edition running flawlessly in Crossover 8.0.0 on a Mac, including simulations, with just a little extra work thanks to http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=550991 . Here's how:

  1. Create a "win98" bottle to install PSpice into.
  2. Perform an "Install Unsupported Software" with PSpice (be sure the self-extracting executable has been unzipped and you are installing from the folder of installation files).
  3. During the installation, make the installation path not include spaces (like the default "Program Files"). I changed mine to "C:\OrCAD_Demo\".
  4. Copy "C:\Windows\PSPICEEV.INI" from a computer that already has PSpice installed on it to "C:\Windows\" in your Crossover bottle. Contact me at stephenroberts@gmail.com if you need a copy of this file.
  5. Edit PSPICEEV.INI and change all the paths to the path you chose in step 3.
  6. Run PSpice!

You should be ready to build and simulate. Enjoy!
