Cannot run Portal 2 ? Please post to this thread!

Okay I am on the beta for crossovers and I have been able to launch it but then it fails sometimes so i am unsure of the problem. It could be that i am on a beta version of macos(13.4 Beta (22F5059b). But it runs than fails but then i can get it to run again. If anyone knows a fix tell me.

I'm posting, for the sake of it. I can get to the main menu, but when I start a new game, it crashes during the loading screen. MBP i9, MacOS 13.3, CrossOver 22.1.1. From the screenshots, it looks like this game runs for other people (or perhaps it used to run).

Hi All – hope someone can help me understand this:
So, I've got Windows 11 running on BootCamp (iMac 2017, 3.4Ghz Intel i5, Radeon Pro 570 4Gb, Ventura 13.6.1) and Portal 2 runs fine through Steam – no problem.
Install Portal 2 through Steam with CrossOver 23.7.1 – installs fine, loads to game selection, then crashes.
This seems to be pretty much the same scenario for everyone else.
Can anyone explain why it can run on (native) Windows under BootCamp but not in CrossOver on Mac running the same hardware? Is it a driver issue – if so what drivers would I need?
TIA

It installs and runs fine on my M1 Apple MacBook Pro and M1 Mac Studio. But when it is installed on my wife's Hackintosh, it does exactly what you are saying. I have even set the graphics to 640x480 windowed, and it still does the same thing. It crashes whenever you try to load any test chamber or level; it crashes about 60% of the way through loading the gameplay. Even a community test chamber.

I also tried exporting the bottle as an archive from my studio, then importing it on my wife's Hackintosh, which has an i7 4770, 16 gigs of RAM, and a Vega64 GPU. Im running Ventura 13.6.3 with the latest Crossover 23.7.1

What is crazy is that the original Portal and the Portal Reloaded both run perfectly on Hackintosh.

Well, I've had to resort to running it on Parallels - which handles it without a problem!
With the latest version I don't even have to reboot into Windows. Runs flawlessley.
Such a shame seeing as I've recently shelled out on Crossover.
