Couldnt get this to run

Anyone have any luck running this?

Hy Joe

i installed it (mac mini) and i had the following error:

Polar WebLink 2.3.4.355 gestartet.
Verwenden von hrmcom.dll Version 1.60
No proxy autodetected
Detected language DES (German)
Using language de
Internal error EOleException: OLE error 80004001

Can you or any one else help me with this error?[i][u]

Same problem here. Look loke everything works fine, you can even transfer the data but when it is about to send the info it said's that there's an error (same mentioned here)

Suggetions, tips ideas? I'm refused to use a pc or boot camp

Cheers

  1. Remove WebLink.
  2. Install Internet Explorer 6.0
  3. Install WebLink in the same bottle that you installed Internet Explorer.

Worked for me. Hopefully it will work for you.

I got it to work, along with the UpLink software. Here's what I did:

  • Make a win98 bottle
  • Install Internet Explorer 6.0 (which also installs DCOM/OLE stuff)
  • Install MS Installer 2.0
  • Install WebLink

Works like a charm, although the "web" link now opens IE instead of Safari (which is my default browser on Mac).

Hi,

Your suggestion works like a charm. Did exactly what you have written down! Excellent. Thanks a lot.

Cheers,

Felix

Could you help me by explaining "bottle"? I am trying to get this to work for my daughter's health class this coming summer and want to make sure I understand the directions. I appreciate the help very much, but didn't get "bottle". Is this the same as a folder? Please forgive my ignorance.
Thank you for the help!

Hi,

"A bottle is a virtual windows environment. Each bottle contains a unique C drive and all its
standard sub directories: Windows, Program Files, etc. A bottle also contains a complete Windows
registry, a full set of most CrossOver settings, and one or more Windows applications."

Have a read of the page above - the explanations should set you right.

Cheers!

OS X 10.5.8 and Crossover 7.1.0 and I'm trying to install Polar WebLink 2.4.11.

a)
Install WebLink 2.4.11
install IE6
-> result: Internal error EOleException: OLE error 80004001

b)
Install IE6
install WebLink 2.4.11
-> result: InstallShield error: "1155: File INSTMSIA.EXE not found"

c)
Install WebLink 2.4.11
Remove WebLink 2.4.11
Install IE 6
Reinstall WebLink 2.4.11
-> result: Internal error EOleException: OLE error 80004001

Damn it! Forgot the MS Installer 2.0.
Alas:

d)
Install IE6
Install MS Installer 2.0
Install Weblink 2.4.11
-> WORKS.

That worked for me as well with Crossover Games 10.0 and Polar WebLink 2.4.11. Thanks.

Well, I tried the instructions, but I could not find the MS Installer 2.0. Only Windows Installer 2.0, but that said it was not compatible. So I assume it is not the same thing.

I really would like to get this to work, so any tips?

Thanks,
