The title says it all. Every time I try to launch the game through steam, I get a blank white 800 x 600 screen that says

The program popcapgame1.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience

I took a screenshot before being forced to restart my computer.

I tried reinstalling and got the same message.

I hope someone can tell me what's going on and how I can fix this.

ok i tried the demo and got this issue it looks like it is a problem with wine :S

You should not need to restart your Mac if a game crashes or locks up in fullscreen mode.

CrossOver has a menu item, Restore Display, in its Window menu. Although the menu itself won't be visible in fullscreen mode, the keyboard combination will still work. So, typing Command-Option-R will force CrossOver out of fullscreen mode. From there, you can use the tools in the Manage Bottles window to kill stuck processes.

If Command-Option-R doesn't work, you can try to quit CrossOver with Command-Q. If that doesn't work, you can use the OS's Force Quit feature to terminate CrossOver with Command-Option-Escape, possibly followed by Return.

Thanks for the tip, it works like a charm.

Still doesn't resolve my main problem being getting pvz to work though.
