Problem Renaming Files (and moving files) in OS X

I downloaded a 30 day trial of Crossover for the sole purpose of getting Picasa to work. So far, most things seem to work ok...I'm not super concerned with viewing videos in Picasa and I actually don't necessarily need to move pics from one file to another (it would be nice, but not crucial to how I use Picasa), but renaming files is very important and the application (Picasa) shuts down every time I try to rename a file. I saw some previous posts about this, but wasn't sure if there was any specific advice for a remedy. Should I look at downloading an older version of Picasa -- does that work?

Any advice? I'm a new Mac convert and I love everything except iPhoto.

Thanks in advance for the help,

Jen

I'm a new Mac convert as well and the only solution seems to be to get the older version: http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=1308;forum=1;msg=5615

I tried a ton of stuff and searched around for any solution to no avail. It just will not work and it doesn't look it's going to be fixed any time soon unless Google jumps in as they did with Picasa for Linux (it uses a custom version of Wine, an open source version of Crossover).

The old version works almost completely for me. But it's such an old version it really sucks to use it and know of all the features you're missing out on. Thanks to my work I will be able to try out Parallels for a bit. I'm guessing I'll end up forking the $65 for Parallels (check www.amazon.com) and another $100 for Windows XP Home. There I know it will work and work well as well as any other programs I may need to run for school or other reasons in the future. It also has IE7 working for us web developers, so that's niiice.

Just wish I could have used Crossover Mac which has a much smaller memory footprint and is more integrated. And much cheaper.

It's really too bad iPhoto pails so much in comparison to Picasa.
