Bought on Steam, installs, but shows black screen

Mac 10.15.7, Crossover 24.0.1.
Bought the game on Steam, it installs just fine, but when I start the game I get a black screen. I can hear the background sounds and the curser changes into the game cursor, but the screen remains black. Clicking anywhere doesn't yield any results.
