it won't work under CG 7.1.1 for Mac! need to turn off advancing text settings

Hello there, this app have a crucial bug issue it will no longer work unless the 'advanced text settings' is on. Therefore there is no possible way to disable it with Crossover tools. Thus game was not completely tested yet. It freezes at the initial screen when typing some password. Although the same issues has the all pc-native clients. I'll post an appropriated thread at advocate forum for somebody from administrative stuff members of Codeweavers. Regards

Would it be possible to bypass the "Registration", by file swapping?
What I mean is, there is an option in the settings page to save the login ID and Password.
Now, I'm assuming this is saved locally, as if it was online, you'd still need to log in, thus making the act of saving the ID a waste of time.
Anyway, would it work if someone could find the file that the ID is saved on (in a proper Windows install) and transplant it into a Crossover installation?
It's just a theory.
I've already tried installing and then copying ALL the files over, but it seems to reset.
But in XP, when I copied the Blue Burst folder to a USB drive, Windows told me there were attached files in other locations that would no longer work. If these files contain the ID, perhaps it's just a matter of finding them.
Also, in my experience most settings files are in a basic text format, so if it can be edited maybe even people without access to a Windows machine could get past.
I'm going to look, but my knowledge of how this game works is extremely limited, so I don't expect to find a fix myself.

Hello and that is great you're interested with this thread :) Alas the native windows users regarding to many posts over appropriated threads are also suffering from this problem it is bounded not only with windows environment but has the Playstation's roots that induces to re-map the keyboard. So there is no doubt we need to find a way to change the property of game link to disable 'these advanced text settings'. Regards!

I was having the same problem, but I managed to get passed it. I was thinking along the same lines of Sisee. Using these methods to fix it describe below, I could login and view my available characters on the server. However, apon selecting a character and trying to connect to the game server (the weird colorfull warp-looking loading screen).. it freezes, and the sound plays infinitely.

LOL. I'm sorry to say, I wrote a wall of text, to fix one problem, and smack you in the face with another...

-------------SOLUTION TO ENTERING USER ID AND PASSWORD------------

I figured since I couldn't find an obvious text file with the saved options and user ID... it would be saved in the Registry Editor, and it was.

In Crossover Games, go to "Programs > Run Command..."
There, type "regedit". That'll open the registry editor for your bottled Windows directory.
Navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SonicTeam\PSOBB"
There, we'll want to add a couple of values. Within the registry editor, click "Edit > New > String Value"
Title the string value exactly this "ACCOUNT".
Then double click it, and in the "value data" field, put in whatever your user ID will be.

As for the Password field, forget about it. It's stored as a Binary Value to make it more secure. the value would look something like "1A 1B 1C 1D 10 11 12 13 14 2A 2B". But this isn't necessary to worry about since this error occurs after trying to type in a second string at login. Following the steps to get the User ID saved, you'll be able to go to the login, and manually type in your password, and your user ID should be there already. You should be able "Start Game" without a problem. However, if you cannot, and you must enter in the password via the Registry Editor.. You'll have to run PSOBB in a Windows OS. save your UserID/Password... View regedit, navigate to that same directory, and find the Binary Value titled "PASSWORD". You'll have to write down the value data. The format will be something like this:

0008 2F 3B 36 21 3E 21 20 21 /;6!>! !
etc... about 6 lines long.

You only have to write down that middle section "2F 3B 36 21 3E 21 20 21" from all the lines. I actually just took a screenshot from Windows in Bootcamp, and viewed the picture in Mac OS X. When entering the data into a new Binary Value, type each set of numbers/letters, don't use spaces, don't press enter, it'll auto-space and everything.

UPDATE: I just noticed. You won't be able to create a character. When asked to to enter a Character Name, the keyboard won't type. So, assuming you can get through the freezing warp-connection. You best hope you have a character already, otherwise you'd have to make one on a Windows OS.

Hello there as i've tried to test it out with the rc5 beta. IT IS OBVIOUS GAME IS NOT WORKING AT ALL. any register tweaks are useless. regards

I've been able to input the registration text with the patch avaliable at schtserv.com, since many windows users was having this issue as well.

There is not a trick anymore for me to bring the input on therefore with using of CX7.1.1-7.2. stables game simply won't work. Could you please provide with a thoroughly guidance on how to run it at last? ain't no answer... though

Has anyone got this to work at all???
I've manage to install everything but as you say run in to trouble when trying to login...
A patch was mentioned from schthack? Anyone know which one this is?

Thanks!

Initially got this working on a bootcamp partition so I had some created characters already.

Figured out the registry thing on my own as well, but again it gets stuck on character creation since you cannot enter a new character's name.

When selecting an existing character the game crashes for me when I try to connect to the servers with the character I've selected.

Anyone know what would be causing the crash when connecting to the servers?

well it seems to be this soft appears to be dead for CX :) as for me I've just migrated to PSP to have PhStar
