Personal Ancestral File 5.x (PAF) Forum

I have tested PAF with both versions 4.2 and 5.0.0alpha of CXO. Installs without the need for DCOM95 on both versions. Pedigree tab now works, and reports seem to work as well. The biggest problem at this point seems to be the fact that PAF still crashes when clicking on the "Individual" tab, but that may not be much of a problem if you don't use that tab.

There are some regression problems with the 5.0.0alpha version of CXO, but hopefully, those will get fixed before the final release of 5.0 final.

Have tried Beta 5.01rc1 and still crashes on "Individual" tab.

"Other Marriages" button does not work.

Can edit individuals now as could not do that in earlier version.

I tested this with Kubuntu 6.06 and Crossover Office 5.0.3 and found that it crashed after the first screen asking if you want to create a new file or open one. It does install and it does seem to have some of the functionality with an existing file.

"Other Marriages" button does work if it is a valid button.

PAF currently seems to have some issues in drawing buttons within CXO. I'm not entirely sure what the PAF developers did to create conditional buttons, but it seems that the buttons exist all of the time and are turned off conditionally rather than the other way round. When only one (or no) marriage exists for a person the "Other Marriages" button might still show up. If the button really shouldn't be there, it should go away after minimizing and restoring the window.
