Serious issues with this program

Ok, so I downloaded the trial version to see if I wanted to use this software, and I have been having some major and rather annoying issues. While trying to play the game I wish to play (Perfect World International) there have been some odd bugs.

First of all, I was able to access the game (after a tedious and extremely long downloading process). But once I was at the game's launcher screen, I tried to change the graphic settings. It would not let me click any of the options, even the option to cancel out of the graphics screen. In fact, it froze the whole crossover system and I had to force quit it. Then I tried to access the game itself without playing with the graphics settings. I was able to access the game. However, once the loading screen was finished the entire screen moved to the left, and I was unable to see about 1/5th of the game screen. Once I was logged into the game, it would not let me click any of the options on the screen (such as chat, skills, support, etc.) It only responded to the clicking as movement and the scroll option was stuck at extreme zoom in. It would not register the WASD keys for movement or any of the other keys as game short cuts.

I tried to adjust the keyboard/mouse settings in the crossover settings panel. Nothing helped. When I tried to play with a virtual desktop, the game would not launch at all.

I went to the manage bottle page and checked if the programs installed were alright by hitting the repair/remove button. Nothing major happened, so I assume that they are all there and functioning properly.

I found a guide online that described to me that crossover requires quartz-rm. Since crossover refused to give me this option:

I went in and manually added quartz-rm. http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20070124205114521

When I went back to start up the game again the launcher was running smoother. However, I was still having the same problem with the graphics panel. And when I went to start the game, it gave me an error message. It said that this program (http://perfectworld...) is attempting to load the c: runtime library incorrectly. And now I cannot get onto the game at all. I tried removing the quartz-rm file, but without it the game would not even pull up the launcher screen.

I have replaced the quartz-rm file and have restarted my computer with the same results.

I would have sent in a ticket, but I will not purchase this software until these issues can be resolved.
If there is no immediate solution to this problem, then I am sorry to say that I will not be purchasing this software. This is a pity, since I am very invested into said game and am anxious to get online again.

If there is anyone who can help me to fix these problems, I would be much obliged.

Also, in answer to a few questions that were asked on the main forum:

I am using Mac OSX lion, I downloaded the trial version from http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxgames/ so I should have crossover games, and I used the installer program that came with crossover. So I selected a game and it created a bottle and found/downloaded the appropriate applications that were needed to run Perfect World-International Version.

Slight update:
I believe that this explains why I am receiving this error message https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms235624(v=vs.80).aspx however, I do not enough technical know-how to be able to use this knowledge to fix my problem.
If anyone does, please help me if you can.

Unfortunately I can't provide you with the exact instructions needed to get PWI up and running under CrossOver as IP ranges of the country I live in are region-locked from PWI (we have a special localized version with our own country-specific servers here), but as the game clients are extremely similar I hope that my advises might help you to get the game up and running.

First of all, I wouldn't recommend to use CrossOver 11.x versions as there are some bugs in them that prevents PW game client to run as good as it had been running with CrossOver Games 10.3. I believe that this problems would be addressed eventually (for example, CrossOver 11.0.2 already incorporates a fix for "items and skill icons not displaying properly in PW game client" bug; more fixes would follow in future minor updates), but for now try to stick with CrossOver Games 10.3.0.

Secondly, let's separate two distinct things: installing the game and updating/executing the game.
As far as I can tell from reading your post, you had been able to successfully install the game. That's excellent as, for example, game downloader for the localized version of the game that is specific for my country uses bittorent protocol to download the game (and thus it isn't possible to automate the downloading using CrossOver "Tie" system), and is extremely unstable under both Wine and/or CrossOver. So, if you're pretty sure that the installation went fine - OK, let's follow up, but don't forget to make a full backup of the downloaded installer files. Also, it wouldn't hurt to make a backup of the folder you had installed the the game into. In case you have some doubts about if the installation process went correctly, and if you have an access to any Windows PC with the game installed - copy a game folder from that PC to some external storage and then use that data to overwrite the contents of the game folder insite the cxgames bottle you had used to install the game.

Now, hoping that the installation went OK and yout game folder contain all the files it should, let's head on to the second problem: how to get the game up and running. What I would recommend you to try:
a) Create a new cxgames bottle, name it any way you like.
b) Move the folder with the installed game from the bottle you had installed it into initially to the drive_c folder of the newly created bottle.
c) Using "Bottle Manager": select your newly created bottle, head on to the "Install software" dialog and install the following software in the exact order specified: "Microsoft HTML Rendering Exgine 7", "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime 6.0", "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime 2005", "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime 2008", "Core Fonts".
d) Using "Bottle Manager": select the bottle you had created at step (1), start up "Wine Configuration", in the dialog box shown make sure to configure Wine to use "Virtual Desktop", set the virtual desktop resolution to match your personal taste (I use 1620x1020 for playing on my 1650x1080 screen).
e) Start up the game launcher using the "Run the Windows Command" dialog. Game launcher executable is the "<folder you had installed the game into/launcher/Launcher.exe". Make sure to star it up inside the bottle you had created at step (1), installed the software to at step (2) and configured to use "Virtual Desktop" at step (3). Now it should start up in "the window inside the window" mode, and chances are good launcher would correctly handle mouse input. Set the graphics preferences in a way you like, and then DO NOT start up the game using launcher. Close it up instead and follow to the next step.
f) Try to start up the game using the "Run the Windows Command" dialog. Game executable is the "<folder you had installed the game into/element/elementclient.exe". As long as you're lucky - the game should start up and work. If not - post the results here, and we (me and other forum visitors) would try to help you solve your problem.

Wish you luck, hope the above info would help you.
