I've been successfully running PWI on Crossover Games for mac (9.2.0) for almost a year now. However, with the latest patch (505, I've had no problems running PWI with the latest expansion, just after this update), I've been unable to get the client to run. I used to open and run elementclient.exe directly, but now when I try to do so, the mini icon merely bounces for a while then disappears without starting the client or an error message. The patcher itself errors after hitting the start button, though this had never stopped the client itself from opening before.

i was runnin pwi on mac osx10.4.11 and cog 8.1.4 without any problem till today - even genesis updated like a charm
since pwi version 505 the updater closes without to launch the game

Been running the game fine for a year or so and now I update to 505, nothing happens. I get the start box for a few seconds but when I press start, the icon bounces and then closes.

Really frustrated.. I have been playing for a long time now!

Any fixes would be great guys!

*Btw, I have tried a reinstall to no avail, first problem I have ever had running the program, even Genesis installed with no problem.

I followed a suggestion from other wine users on the PWI forums (original thread here: http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1052191) and downloaded the msvcp60.dll file into the system32 directory and the problem seems fixed. I'm not sure about the other suggestion in the same thread, but hope this helps :)

i googled for the missing - msvcp60.dll - downloaded and put it into my
pwi/element - folder

pwi/element/MSVCP60.DLL

now the game starts again - yes im in and can play :)

hope it works this way for your osx and cgversions too

Just go to 'Install Software' on crossover, and install Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 on your Perfect World bottle.

I installed the Microsoft Visual 6.0 into the bottle and now it works... Thanks all!

Back to playing again! :D

I have downloaded the microsoft visual 6.0 and installed it into the bottle.

I am still having an issue where the error message comes up, around 10 seconds after the game starts.

any ideas please??

I followed the instructions I found on the PWI forum to download the msvcp60.dll and place it in the system32 folder and the client now loads. Patcher error still occurs. Unfortunately the element client closes without an error after a brief moment of loading. Hopefully we can start playing this great game again soon. Any tips in the meantime are much appreciated. Other than using bootcamp/vm software etc. Already been down that road and I don't feel like trying those again.

Installation of Visual C++ 6 did the trick ... learning to read continues to pay off daily... :| deep
