PDF Xchange Editor 5.5.x Forum

The only way to install this software is with the msi 32bit installer. Any other installer will just freeze and not display anything. If you selected OTHER under the list of applications, everything should go normally and finish the installation without any problems. In the case you selected the PDF-Xchange Viewer 2.x tie as a based and installed PDF Xchange Editor there, you will see an error at the end that you can skip.

On the installation dialog, make sure you select Custom installation instead of Complete. In the next window, make sure that "Tracker Update" is NOT selected. If you proceed to install the updater, PDF Xchange Editor will open but soon after it will freeze and crash showing you and error log.

Within 14.03 Xchange Editor installation works wihtin the XChange Pro Bundle with custom installation and removing the plugins (office ...)
AND ONLY if you do NOT paste in the serial number. You can paste it in afterwards when starting the program and register it so.

Interestingly, the 64bit version installed fine in PlayOnLinux. I have not tested the application itself thoroughly though.

I've also been able to install the 64bit version since my last post. I'm not sure if it's because of a new PDF Xchange version or it's the new Crossover version, or maybe a combination of both. In any case, I don't have a problem with 64bit anymore.
The updater still crashes the app if I forget to remove it at installation time.
