When it runs to update the program it just keeps allocating space. I can hear the hard drive grind but it never continues.

When it runs to update the program it just keeps allocating space. I can hear the hard drive grind but it never continues.
This seemed to be happening to me, but on closer inspection it was just creating the files very slowly.

On an SDD it is mitigated by the brute speed of storage device, but it's a big nuisance on classic mechanical drives.
Oh my Lord. I just tried installing this game under Linux. Now I understand what people are complaining about. Under OS X on my iMac it took less that 13 minutes to allocate the space required, but yesterday when I tried to install it under Linux on that same iMac, I gave up after five hours.
I'm so sorry for making it sound like waiting was an acceptable solution to the problem.
Would anyone like a copy of an archived Path of Exile bottle? I can archive the bottle on my Mac and upload it to one of my web sites or bittorrent it.
