Hmm... tried it with the CD 1 from my Tungsten C. Looks like it crashes out before installation begins...
Error message was:
Internal Error 2738. CostFinalizeCustom
And then the installer terminates.
Are you guys using the downloaded version, or which particular PalmDesktop version? (I believe the one that comes with TC is 4.1 as well...)
Anyway, that's all for now. Will report more if I get time.
I have installed from both the CD1 from my Tungsten C and also from the latest download from PalmOne. I don't have any problem with the install using win98 as a default. Do you have Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater installed under Crossover? A Google search for your error indicates that the Palm installer will crash if IE isn't installed.
On my system, trying to execute Palm.exe from the command line shows that the program crashes with the following:
wine: Unhandled exception (thread 000d), starting debugger...
WineDbg starting on pid 0xc
Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000004 in 32-bit code (0x40ab4d98).
In 32 bit mode.
Followed by register dump and backtracing. I haven't found anything useful in the dump but will keep trying.
Hmm... I have IE 6.0.2800.1106 installed. When I tried it.
