When Mozilla extended it's Firefox version from v28 up to v29,
things got a little heated, as v29 was based on the new look from Australis.
Some didn't like that 'too similar to Chrome' theme, and so looked to a Extended Support Release of Firefox.
Now, it seems that v24.5.0 of Firefox is in fact an ESR.
But there is a I'll wait and see what they do but if it ends up looking like chrome then I'll be joining you on the Pale Moon seeing as it's compatible with the FF addons and themes.
However:
"Pale Moon will continue to use the well-known user interface, and will not be following Mozilla's move to the "Australis" user interface (by a number of people dubbed "FireChrome" because of its likeness with Google's Chrome browser interface) introduced in Firefox 29. Instead, the current plan for Pale Moon is to stick to a stable, solid, and easily maintainable base code of Firefox 24 ESR (with a number of reverted changes to keep maximum configurability as well as important updates ported back from later Firefox versions) and to maintain this code base for as long as it is feasible." If a later version of the code base will eventually be switched to, it will only be done on the premise that current configurability and customization capability is retained.
But, later versions of Pale Moon, may be based on the ESR, or even onto it's own branch.
