I tried it under Crossover 7.0 this summer and was unable to install the program. I used the educational version of Painter X.
It installs with an error on CX 8.0 Linux.
It doesn't run, however. Attempting to run it crashes the program and has graphical errors as it tries to draw the pogram's windows.
No luck with CX 9.1 Linux either. Something about the copy protection. Maybe the bottle needs some component to get the DRM to work.
Here is the log:
fixme:rpc:RpcMgmtWaitServerListen not waiting for server calls to finish
fixme:exec:SHELL_execute flags ignored: 0x00000100
fixme:win:WINNLSEnableIME hUnknown1 0x10072 bUnknown2 1: stub!
Pretty sure the functionality is related to Rpcrt4.dll.
Ok so maybe rpcrt4.dll was not the culprit after all.
It has become clear that whatever is preventing installation is likely the DRM software.
