At first my MBP mid-2010 running Snow Leopard didn't recognise the PSPXI install disk, only showing an empty folder with a red minus sign on the desktop, instead of the usual CD icon. Additionally, when I tried to install it in XP via Parallels, it didn't even recognize the disk at all, thus I fathomed that my CD/DVD hardware just wasn't compatible with the CD format.
Next I drove to my parents, placed the CD into their PC and copied the files to my empty 4GB pendrive, and returned home. Next I followed the instructions at http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=3148) and installed PSPXI from my pendrive, and all went very well indeed, all done I opened the program and it failed saying...
"The program Corel Paint Shop Pro photo.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for this inconvenience.
I just went to 'Manage Bottles' and under the 'Applications Tab' hit 'Repair or Removed' [I thought it might give me some repare options] and it appears to have uninstalled the program, so I've deleted the Bottle also.
UPDATE
I was concerned that when I had copied the files from the CD, to my pendrive... that it might have missed some 'hidden' files. However, I just installed and ran, PSPXI on my Mac via a Parallels XP machine. Thus all the necessary files were present, I just need to mimic that same environment in Crossover, then I can do away with Parallels, which is such a slow process to get PSP up and running, however... currently it is all I have
