Osmos did not display any issues when installed via the Steam interface.
Game depends on Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable being installed
into the same bottle.
Game depends on OpenAL supports, which is currently unimplemented in COG-8.1.4 -
--> Follow Martin Zuther's tip&trick regarding solving the OpenAL issue
Note: If you have any issues with sound in CXG-9.0 use the same tip&trick
The installation procedure I used went like this;
-
Purchase the game via Steam using my system's default web-browser (firefox 3.5.x)
-
Install the Steam client via the cxinstallwizard builtin target (if not already installed)
-
Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable into the same bottle with cxinstallwizard builtin target
-
Start the Steam client, and download/install the Osmos software
-
Follow Martin Zuther's tip&trick and copy the dll files into the following path;
~/.cxgames/steam-osmos/drive_c/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/osmos
-
Launch the game
Gets a silver regardless of OpenAL work-around.
Cheers!
