igoproxy.exe exception displayed when launching Origin despite Origin working fine

If you get a dialog stating that igoproxy.exe encountered an exception, Origin should still work, but if you want to get rid of that dialog message you can do the following:

As this appears to be a service related to the InGame overlay, we will disable that as the first step.

  1. In Origin go to menu Origin->Application Settings->Origin In Game and disable "Enable Origin In Game"
  2. Exit Origin
  3. Navigate to ~/.cxoffice/<bottle>/drive_c/Program Files/Origin/ and delete the file igoproxy.exe

Now try launching Origin again, and it should not display that dialog message again.
