I've heard that you don't need a Nvidia GPU to run physx. That it will instead run on the cpu.
I can't find a download link for the program at nvidia's website.
Still no luck with the link to the program download.
Mirror's Edge has it so I installed it from there. However it only seems to work with a GPU and not off the CPU... no good.
Here is the log just in case

Here's a generic link that always (in internet terms) resolves to the latest version:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx_system_software.html
Should the crosstie be updated with the latest version?

I think that depends -- this app has the capacity (currently) to
break CXG menus and items in the control panel, and I haven't heard
a thing back from this issue : I do know it only seemingly affects
apps that bundle physx (but perhaps it can break things when not in
a bundle -- un-concluded on that front)...
I suppose if you doublecheck it's all sane, there shouldn't be a
problem....
Oh, yes.
In the Bottle Manager, my Steam-Trine bottle's "Applications" and "Control Panel" tabs are busted because of PhysX.
Strangely enough, my Steam-BC:R bottle is just fine ... And I also noticed that the PhysXCplUI.exe does not exist in version 9.10.0513, or at least it wasn't installed into the bottle.
Maybe the newer version behaves better? Will have to test it a bit more.
I've created about five other bottles for games that require PhysX and all but one also required Steam. I installed PhysX 9.10.0513 and had no problems in four of those bottles. The one bottle with problems had other issues, so I could not point to PhysX as the definite culprit.
All in all, I'm very happy with this version. I took the liberty of updating the links in the crosstie.
You need to test this scenario with a game/steamapp that bundles the physx install,
otherwise you will not detect the issue.
But in general, letting games install dependencies on their own is not recommended, isn't it?
So, if one wants to install app_id=5652 or app_id=6077 in Steam, wouldn't we recommend to install PhysX by hand/crosstie before installing the game?
I guess what I'm saying is that version 9.10.0513 works fine for end-users as a crosstie.
If we want to find out why bundled PhysX installs fail, let me know what I can do. But I suspect you'll wait until CXG 10.1 releases 😊
Unfortunately, in the case of steamapps, either the detection fails
(for some reason) and it will install physx again regardless of
whether or not physx is already there... or ... it insists on the
installation anyhow without giving the user a choice to say 'no'.
I cannot get Physx either via crossover installer or via steam to install (10.1)
My graphics card is a nvidia GeForce GTS 360M running driver version 195.36.24
64bit ubuntu.
it ALWAYS fails with the following error message;
Installation ended prematurely becuase of an error.
I have tried clean bottles, different bottles, new steam bottles, nothing works.
googling says to use /quiet command, it does not work.
I get this from the log generated by physx installer
