Well... I need this software, or rather, it would be very good if it could run. I'll try to find out how to do it, but I've just tried to install it, and it doesn't work. Sadly, it doesn't give you an error log or something to get you started. Or to know were to start researching.

I was very mad at Nokia when I discovered that the Nokia Suit was only available for Windows. I have a friend that just bought a Nokia cell phone, and she has a Mac, so it would be good for her too if I managed to do it hug??

Cheers, keep up the good work.

Thanks JavaZava for your interest in this. As a computer novice, I've got no idea of which way to approach it.

I would have thought that Nokia would have produced a Mac Suite the same as their PC Suite, but I don't know the technicalities involved in all this. As a long time PC user who's just switched to Mac, these incompatibilities are a new and very annoying experience. If Nokia don't solve it, then they'll doubtlessly lose sales amongst Mac users as a result.

On the other hand, I don't know why Crossover doesn't work with this and what are the technical challenges in getting it to work.

Right now we're screwed both ways. Falling between two chairs so to speak.

If any geek out there has an idea on it, great, please share.

I don't thin that this software will work because it needs to install some drivers for the nokia phones. Better take a look at OpenSync for syncronisation and just plug the cable in for data transfer.

You could use the Nokia beta software on thier mac site. I use it and although it is a little buggy sometimes, overall it works very well. It syncs photos, audio and video.

To sync calendars and contacts you are best off using iSync which comes as standard on all macs.

These two apps together will do almost everything PC suite can do, and much more simply.

I searched Nokia's site and didn't find any software for the Mac except the iSync plugins (which don't support my N900). Where did you find the software?

Nokia has OVI Suite. It is accesible online and the synchronization can be done directly from your phone (you need to have internet on your phone). The ovi suite is accessible by browser (firefox) will do :). I use Ubuntu and I had no trouble using it. The only thing that might bother some people is that the application is on-line. The desktop version doesn't work on code weavers.

@Lavinia, that is a really good tip. I didn't know that. I'll check it out later.

It may be a little unconfortable that it's an on-line app, but I gess that it's better than nothing. And I am almost sure that the PC Suite will never work with cross over, as it needs drivers.

The problem I had earlier, was that Ubuntu didn't recognice my phone at all. Now Archlinux at least recognices the memcard, so I can work with music and pictures, but I can't install anything, or sincronise my contacts. If this web-application can do it, I think that solves the other half of the problem.
