I was able to successfully install NOLF Game of the Year Edition on the following machine:
Soyo SY-7ISA+ Intel i815 Motherboard
Intel Pentium III 866 MHz Processor
512 MB SDRAM
PNY Verto GeForce FX 5200 AGP 8x 256 MB DDR
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 PCI Sound Card (SB0220)
Samsung CD-RW/DVD Drive Model: TS-H492A/RSWN
Dual Boot openSUSE Linux 10.3/Windows XP Pro
CodeWeavers CrossOver Games for Linux Version 7.1.2
I played the game in Linux up to the point where Volkov orders the hotel blown (skipped training).
Single player in-game execution is quite good although there are some anomalies concerning the intro videos and some minor graphical and music glitches in menus. Specifically, the BINK intro videos for the game publishers and developers do not play properly (black screen and only brief snatches of sound, I use ESC to skip them). The in-game menu cursor is somewhat corrupted. The color palette seems wrong during the opening credits where Cate is dancing. Some menu items don't display properly, but are legible. Main menu background music does not play at all. Ambient music appears to be missing in levels.
On the other hand, cutscenes play properly. The game is playable at all resolutions listed in the Display Options. In-level sound seems to be fine (sound effects and NPC conversations are audible). Keyboard controls work properly, although I didn't test them exhaustively. I didn't notice any anomalies in graphics in game levels.
I have not tested multiplayer/network play.
