I just signed on as an advocate, and this is one of several Windows program I'd like to get to work under Crossover Linux (Quicken 2008 and Adobe Photoshop CS2 are 2 more). This program installs with no problems, but when it runs, says it can't find the (USB 2.0) slide scanner that's connected to it. I'm running Ubuntu Linux, V. 7.10, on one system (a desktop), and Xubuntu, V. 7.10, on the other (an ASUS EEE-PC). Any help with this or either of the other 2 would be appreciated--
Hi Jim,
Your first trick is to get the scanner recognized by the Linux tools.
Once it's working with xsane, then CrossOver should report it as
a Twain device. If you can't get it to work with xsane, or if
Nikon Scan 4 doesn't support Twain devices, I'm afraid it's not likely to work.

Thanks for the help, but that only got me part of the way. XSane recognizes it as a Twain device, and reports all of its internal information, but can't get it to scan. According to the Sane Web site, the driver that works with other "Coolscan" scanners doesn't work with this one (LS-5000 ED). Any ideas about where else to look? Thanks--
