NewsLeecher v3.9 Final + Crossover 7.0

I have been testing the new crossover 7 with newsleecher 3.9 final on Ubuntu 8.04 and I wanted to say that I was excited at first. The install went fast and smooth in fact faster than with the last version. That is where my excitement ended sort of. It takes 10 minutes to start on my system. Ubuntu 8.04 i386 Desktop, AMD64 3700+ processor, 1 GB ram, and Nvidia Geforce 7600 AGP 512mb video card.

Once it started I clicked next instead of entering my key since one problem last time was it creating the data and temp directories after installing and starting for the first time. That seems to be corrected and working perfect. I went through and made my normal changes and tried to enter my key but it is not accepting it and even after running it once it still takes 10 minutes everytime to start. Don't really understand what it going on with the long load time.

On MacOS X 3.9 Final installs fine. However, SuperSearch keeps Initializing...☹️ So the most important feature of NL doesn't work in 3.9. I can fetch headers manually and so, so it can't be a connection problem. But what can it be?

Nobody? If I can't get NewsLeecher 3.9 final (or better) to work, then CrossOver is a no-go for me...

I am also having this problem with Crossover on Mac OSX Leopard.

Back when I was running Ubuntu w/ wine I had it working perfectly, which is bizzare. Now on OSX everything works except for Supersearch - it is constantly initialising. Really, really bizzare.

Could it be some sort of port issue? Does supersearch run on a particular port/protocol?

I know that newsleecher used to depend on certain parts of Internet Explorer to run correctly but as of version 3.9 these elements were removed.

I couldn't figure it out with another user we tried everything. All I know is right now since the new 7.0 version and up newsleecher wont do anything now but install. If I try to run it nothing works. I might go back to the last version before 7.0 came out in Linux.

Did supersearch work on the Mac before 7.0?

I have only recently switched to OS X so I don't know, can anybody out there get Newsleecher + SuperSearch working on OS X?

I know it's not a port issue because SuperSearch works in AltBinz via Crossover/Wine on OS X but Newsleecher is a much better program.

I installed NL 3.9 final on a fresh installation of Crossover 7.02 trial (wxp bottle), copied over gdiplus.dll and started NL in trial mode. Super search keeps initializing forever.
I went ahead and tested with 3.9.1 beta2 (fresh bottle) but this version suddenly exits after a few seconds.
Sadly still no NL for mac...
