NWN GOG Version

I've just tried the GOG version of NWN with 9.1 and after a quick test run it appears to be working with no major issues. The only issue, in fact, is that the movies don't seem to display. When I start a campaign, I can hear the audio for the cutscene, but all I see is the loading screen at 100%. If I click or press escape to skip, it jumps straight into the game running normally, no visible glitches, sound is normal as far as I can tell.

I should also note that I'm running in a virtual desktop window. I generally prefer it anyway, but it does seem to improve compatibility with many games.

I'm running GOG's NWN Diamond Edition as well, only in fullscreen and with most of the graphics turned up (MacBook/GMA 950, 10.5.8). The game runs perfectly (it does load a little slowly), but yes, I've also run into the cutscene issue as well. I think CrossOver must be having trouble with the game's use of the Bink Shared Video library. I haven't played any other games on CXG which use Bink (to my knowledge anyway) so I don't know if this is just an issue with NWN and Bink, or if CXG has issues with Bink in general.

In any case, NWN works great for me on CXG 9.2.

Hi,

Just FYI, bink video replay tends to be problematic anyhow, but in my
testing here I find a lot of bink stuff works in linux (but not all), and
that which does work in linux, doesn't necessarily work in OSX...so there's
a definite disparity here between the 2 OS' aside from CX's handling of same..

Cheers!

How did you guys get the game to install? My download came in three parts, but when I try to install using the setup file, Crossover just goes through the motions but doesn't install anything. The other two files (in the same directory as the setup file) seem to be ignored.

EDIT:

Wait. For whatever reason, it is now working. I swear I tried it five times before, exactly the same way.
