Crossover Games Mac, NWN

So codeweavers releases a games focused version of Crossover, and I still need to use a 3rd party no CD crack to play anything? NWN (windows version, not spending $90 to buy the Mac version w/ expansions when I already have the Windows ones) is the main game I wanted to work. How can this be focused for windows games when 90+% of the games will not work without a crack for looking for the CD? Definitely not going to buy this when its such a hassle to use... But NWN seemed to install fine, seems good... the Toolset crashes on launch (not surprising), and the main game says to insert the Play Disc, and cant see it.

Also during the install it never saw the new discs in the drive til i hit browse and selected what was already the chosen option.

If they ever get this working right where I can install a game and use it mostly like it runs on Windows, without having to use hacks or anything, then I'll buy it for sure... until then, I don't even need more than one day of the free 7 day trial.

Have you updated to the latest patch? The most recent patch doesn't require a CD.

The actual game ran fine on my Mac, saw the CD, except for some weirdnesses related to the curser. The toolset didn't work at all; I'm most interested in getting a working toolset, personally.

I never expected the toolset to work, as it doesn't work right in any version of Wine that I know of.

If it works after patching that will be help for NWN, and thats good, though that seems to be Biowares doing and not Codeweavers... still don't like that Codeweavers is selling it focused on games, and cant get past one of the most major hurdles that effects most games.

I'll patch it, and see how it works, thanks for letting me know that

Uh, I installed the Linux version of NWN and (except for the movies, which I'm still working on trying to fix, and the toolkit, which I never used in my Windoze days), it runs flawlessly, WITHOUT a DVD in the drive. The top sticky on Bioware's Linux forum tells exactly how to install the entire Diamond Edition, with all the extra modules, in great detail. It's not too hard...
