After a few false starts, I just got NetMeeting 3.0 to run.
I tried running the CXOffice "install windows software" menu pick, and it would start, partially run the installer and then fail with a message that this version of netmeeting could not be installed on this version of windows. I tried different bottles, but always the same message.
Finally, I tried "Run a windows Command", and picked the NM30.EXE installer file as downloaded from Microsoft. It ran just fine.
The application doesn't show up up in the "Windows Applications" menu in KDE, but when I use the "Run a Windows Command" menu pick, and point it at the conf.exe file as installed in Program Files\NetMeeting, Netmeeting started fine, allowed me to join a meeting, and I can see a remote desktop displaying a powerpoint slide show. I can't vouch for audio, as we don't use it, but the desktop application sharing seems to work well. We're seeing powerpoint slides sent from San Jose, California over the WAN to Dublin, Ireland with reasonable performance.
This is all on an IBM thinkpad laptop running SuSE 10 and KDE and CXOffice 5.0.1-1.
