Working v.good in CXG 9.1 and linux/Mac

Hi,

This HalfLife mod seems to install and run correctly using Steam ; I had a couple
of connection errors on some empty servers, but this problem didn't seem apparent when
joining a server with a number of players -- perhaps the downloading of materials and
subsequent processing/caching of files helps remedy this issue...unsure. Apart from
this, the mod seems to run at a silver medal ranking or better....

Installation:

Mac;

  1. Download the Natural Selection mod first. Now start Crossover games, Configure menu -> Manage Bottles

  2. In the cxsetup GUI, highlight the Steam bottle, and click on the Applications tab.

  3. Click on 'Install Software' -> 'Other Application' -> 'Select an installer' -> 'Choose installer file'

  4. Navigate to the NS installer file downloaded above, select it and click 'Use this installer' -> Install

  5. The mod installer will start, accept the defaults presented and allow the mod installation to complete,
    and exit/close Manage bottles when finished.

    Now start the Steam GUI itself - Natural Selection should appear in your Steam game library - play the mod.

linux;

Installation is pretty mush identical except for step 1.

  1. Download the Natural Selection mod first. Now start cxsetup (Manage Bottles)

The rest of the instructions above should apply equally to the linux case with minor differences.

When our C4P system can handle steamapps, I'll do up a C4P profile to handle this (and other) HL/HL-2 mods.

Cheers!

Thank you so much Don! It couldn't have been easier to understand. I really appreciate your help and this is why I'll stay loyal to crossover games. Again, thank you.
