won't launch

Hello! my problem is two-fold. hopefully someone can help me out with one of them.

1) I bought the game off of HerInteractive, downloaded the .exe file, and go to install it. First, I tried an XP bottle. It installed fine, but when I launch it it encounters a "serious error" and needs to close. After reading a bit on the forum about other ND games, I tried installing the DirectX9 into the same bottle, tried it in a Win98 bottle, everytime the same thing.

2) A few days ago, I was desperate to play some of the older ND games only available for PC. I found crossover, was thrilled to find you could try it for free, and bought the Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake from Amazon. I successfully downloaded the Amazon Games and Software Downloader, it downloaded the game, it installed just fine, and I was able to play the game no problem. When I finished, I eagerly went to get another one. However when I went to download it this time, the games and software downloader wouldnt work. I deleted the first one I had downloaded and figured if I started from the beginning like with Ghost Dogs it should be fine. Nope. It downloads and installs, but when you click finish to begin downloading your game it doesnt open. I can find the application and double click, but just the tray icon opens and when you right click on it, where it says "Launch Amazon Games and Software Downloader..." is grayed out. When I get on Amazon to download, it says my downloader is "online" but when I clikc download it just refreshes my page and never launches the downloader.

Does anyone have any suggestions for either of these problems?? I really hope I can make this work, I love ND and was thrilled that I got Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake to run so easily!!
