When I click on the CrossTie link to download, CrossOver opens, but it still tells me that I need to select an installer, which, if I understood how CrossTie is supposed to work, is not supposed to happen. I've noticed this also happens with Nancy Drew: The Haunted Carousel.
Actually, some crossties work exactly like that, others will look for a specific file on a CD... Are you trying to install the game from a CD/DVD or a folder containing the installer and required data files?
I can't install via the CD because my computer won't recognize that it's even in the CD drive.
So how was Crossover supposed to install the game?
Well, when I previously used a CrossTie link, I didn't need to insert any kind of CD. The installer was already present, and CrossOver installed everything itself. I didn't have to search for an installer myself.
If you're trying to install content that is publicly available on the internet and can be redistributed then yeah, you don't need to select an installer. It will be downloaded. Examples are the MS Visual C++ Runtimes, DirectX 9, Internet Explorer, etc... Crossover is not a content distribution system like Steam, Origin or some others.
