Premiere 2004

MYOB Premiere version: 2004 (NZ Version 8.0, Release 7.5.2H)
Cross Over version: Standard 3.0.1
Wine version: Wine 20040213

This is the current version (in the NZ market at least) and can be installed as follows:

  • Install DCOM95.
  • Install Internet Explorer 6.
  • Install Quicktime.
  • Install MYOB Premiere with default options from the AutoRun executable.
  • Install WSock32.dll into Windows\System directory (not System32 as above) to enable TCP/IP multiuser access.

This version seems able to print the card list, but still nothing useful such as invoices or statements. It prints blank pages instead.

As before opening some dialogs such as "Verify Company File..." causes the system to hang with max CPU. Other issues include being unable to select in some dialog lists, such as the invoice type selection list, but this can be worked around.

Just another couple of notes...
This was tested on Mandrake 9.2
Premiere doesn't launch properly from the Gnome menu, but seems ok from the shell.

You don't need to install wsock32.dll from a windows machine. CrossOver cannot and will not use wsock32. Instead you can simply do the following:

cp ~/cxoffice/lib/wine/libwsock32.dll.so ~/.cxoffice/dotwine/fake_windows/Windows/System/wsock32.dll

that should stop programs from complaining about it being missing...

Yup, that's a better plan. I just linked it in, and it seems happy:
[richard@testbox System]$ ln -s /opt/cxoffice/lib/wine/wsock32.dll.so wsock32.dll

It's worth noting that Wine 20040615 (the download version) has fixed the dialog hang problem, although a couple of other minor issues have been introduced.

It's also worth noting that I'm wrong. :-/ If you're quick, you can make the dialogs work, but any sort of delay still lets it get into the max cpu hang. Tested with the "Verify Company File..." menu item.
