Mozilla Firefox 3.x Forum

I downloaded the latest version of FireFox for Windows (3.5.5 at this time) and installed it on the latest version of Crossover (8.0.0) for Linux on Ubuntu 9.10. I am now using this browser to access Quickbooks Online without any problems at all. (I'm also using it to make this forum post.) QuickBooks Online requires a Windows browser -- I've tried using the Linux browser and spoofing the User Agent but I ran into issues on some pages. I've run into no problems using the Windows FireFox with Crossover.

Thanks for that feedback Jeremy -- there's quite a number of websites 'out there'
that undertake some kind of so called {ahem} 'browser check', which always fails
in linux...(I've looked at such pages' raw code, it it actually checks for OS
first, and -then- for a compatible web-browser ; these scripts only check for
Mac/Windows OS types, so regardless of the case your -native- browser might be
able to do things just fine, you get the foobar of 'needing a compatible browser')

I flame sites like this regularly for being "deliberately mis-representative of
what they are checking for, and displaying an error message not at all truly
indicative of the fault situation"...they never email me back, or change their code ;)

Now that I see your posting here, I've another avenue to try...
