I installed the Windows version of Firefox 3.0.1 into a Win2000 bottle using Crossover 7.0.2. This was on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 64-bit system.
Why: Because I was unsuccessful at getting the newest Linux version of Flash Player 9 to work with the Linux Firefox.
I found that the Windows version of Flash Player 9 works very well with the Windows Firefox using Crossover. I downloaded the latest Flash Player and manually installed it using the Crossover install feature being careful to install it into the same bottle that contained Firefox.
However, there are several problems with Firefox 3.0.1 running under Crossover. (1) Some of the dialog panels are partially truncated so that the buttons are only partially displayed, (2) the colon character is not properly displayed; this seems to be true regardless of the default font, (3) I was not able to enter my user name and password for my AIM Mail account, (4) sometimes (but not always) it will not allow me to enter text into the Google or Yahoo search entry box, and (5) it occasionally hangs or crashes.
Otherwise, it seems to work quite well.
