Microsoft Visual Studio Pro Forum

Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Professional is an interesting program to have running. After all, it is a C++ editor and gui creator (not that useful). Anyway through this forum, anyone, feel free to post your debugging scripts displaying where the program went wrong (a missing dll, ect.)

So goals are the following:
Get the installer working
Get the program to run successfully and debug for further problems

I use btw, the original Pro 2008 disk I've burned that is not updated with the service pack.

will this software work with Crossover?

This software probably won't work with crossover (as of this post it still doesn't).

Here is the downside of Microsoft Visual Studios: you have to pay a couple of hundred or thousands dollars to get developing with it, the program uses every system library imaginable for API reference (Wine can't cover them all), and for actual production, if you spent money on this product, you probably have money for buying the platform to program it with (even if it is just a netbook).

If you are a programmer and you need this work, please get a copy of windows and install it in a virtual machine or as a partition accordingly. By using wine, there is no guarantee, even if it installs, that Visual Studios will work with full capability.
