I've attempted to install both Microsoft Visio x86 2013 and 2016 in CrossOver 15.0.1 without success.
MS Visio 2013:
Installed succesfully using the Visio Pro 2013 Win32 ISO package (Do not attempt to install using the C2R method as this will fail).
Installed MS Visual C++ 2010, 2012 and 2013 since I knew version 2008 is required for Visio 2010
When attempting to launch the program for the first time it crashed immediately
MS Visio 2016:
Attempted to install using Visio Pro 2016 Win32 ISO package (Again, the C2R method isn't supported in CrossOver).
The installation failed with an error message referring to MSOHTMED.EXE
Since both MS Visio and Project (2013 or 2016) are needed for my office work I currently have these installed in a Windows 7 virtual machine. But I would prefer to run these applications in CrossOver when they're supported to reduce the load on my MacBook's resources. All my other Windows programs and games are now running just fine in CrossOver, including Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect, so I'm hoping when CrossOver has been updated with Wine 1.9.x at least Office 2013 will run on my Mac. It's been over 2 months since the last update so I'm counting on a newer version soon.
Just tried both Visio 2013 and 2016 with the latest Release of CrossOver 15.1.0. Still no luck, as both installers refuse to complete. This is rather frustrating to say the least. Let's wait and see what Wine V1.9.X brings when it arrives.
Just an update to this problem - there is definitely no way to install Visio using Crossover. However, since this question was first asked there are many alternatives to Visio for Mac that open and edit Visio files. Trying to use a complex program such as Visio via an emulator software can cause many different problems anyway and you're far better off installing a native application that can open and edit Visio files on Mac.
