i doubt anyone even reads this but i haven't had any luck installing this
all i get is an error

setup is unable to proceed due to the following error(s)
-to install and use this product, you must be running on of the following operating system
...
....
... (insert window platform~)
...
..

-The installation of Microsoft office 2010 requires that msxml version 6.10.1129.0 be installed  on your computer. install this component and re-run setup

i downloaded this from msdn, do i just have to install office before i can install MS project?

I just had this same problem. You MUST remove ALL installations of MSXML, and parts thereof. You might wish to just create a fresh bottle. Then download the installer for the MSXML 6, and MSXML6 SP1. Afterwards the installer will recognize MSXML as present and of the needed version, allowing the install to continue.

I just wanted to add to this post. I ran into the exact problem. I had a previously installed version of MS Project 2003 which musty have been causing the conflict. To remedy the problem. I went to Finder Applications->CrossOver and then dragged the MSP 2003 folder and it's contents to the trash.

I then re-started the Cross Over and the install worked fine. Phew. Thanks for the above hint.

Seems to work for me but there's some problem on Close.

I set up a new bottle for Vista and installed there. I'm using Crossover 10.2

Hi. I tried the same with a new Vista bottle and the latest trial version and it didn't work for me. Did you add anything else to the bottle before installing MS Project? Thanks.

To install in Crossover 10.0.2

Enviroment
Ubuntu 10.10 64 bits
Crossover 11.0.2
Project 2010 32 bits

Go to Crossover menu nd select Install windows software
Install Microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) 6.0 SP1 in a XP Boottle
Go to Crossover menu nd select Install windows software
Install MS Project 2010 from the original media all default settings
Enjoy
Some minor errors in exit and sometimes open files but is useable

Please note that with the new "Project 2010" listing the Supported Applications section of Crossover's Install Software menu, manually installing MSXML is no longer necessary. The best way to install MS Project 2010 is to select "Microsoft Project 2010" from the list of supported applications, select your installation media/file, and then proceed to allow Crossover to download and install the default components.
